“All BISP messages are sent from 8171 only and those received from other numbers are fake,” the statement clarified. The program stated that users can obtain genuine information about its programs by visiting the BISP’s website and official social media accounts.

Fake Messages

“The fake messages claim that the beneficiaries’ stipends have been approved, ask for contact information for money transfers, or guarantee enrollment in the BISP program and stipend issuance,” the BISP stated. However, the actual messages coming from the BISP do not guarantee that any financial assistance will be provided without proper documentation and verification.

Helpline and Registration

It further stated that to be registered, prospective beneficiaries had to come to the BISP council office with their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and the B-Form for the dynamic survey, which was provided at no cost. It further stated that the BISP has never threatened to remove a beneficiary from the program and that details regarding the programs are available by calling 080026477.
